Not doing Mubaraka due to professional reasons, says Sonakshi Sinha
Mumbai: A lot of speculations were doing the rounds about the female lead of Anees Bazmee’s Mubaraka. After Parineeti Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha’s name popped as the film’s lead actress. However, soon it was reported that the Dabangg star walked out of the project due to her not-so-good equation with Tevar co-star Arjun Kapoor.
Putting rumours to rest, Sonakshi Sinha cites professional reasons for opting out of ‘Mubaraka’. “I don’t think it’s right to speak about the film that I was offered and I am not doing. It was a matter between me and the producer. It was a professional decision to not to do the film and nothing else,” Sonakshi said at an event.
Apart from Sonakshi’s sour relationship with Arjun, whom she reportedly dated while shooting for Tevar in 2014, it was also speculated that the actress declined the film because she didn’t like the role offered to her. “People have a habit of cooking up stuff (stories). But I don’t think I need to clarify things to anyone,” said the actress.
Some other names such as Diana Penty and Athiya Shetty as the film’s leading lady have also been doing rounds but the makers are to yet to lock the leading lady of Mubaraka.
The film will see Arjun Kapoor sharing screen space with his uncle Anil. They would be reprising their real life roles as uncle and nephew in the film too.
