Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor were asked their views on being labelled as 'star kids'. Janhvi said, "It has a long way to go for us and one hit film doesn't mean I am successful. There is a lot more I need to do to earn love, affection and acceptance from people."

Ishaan said, "I am happy that people are accepting and loving my character (in the film). I believe it's people's prerogative to label us as star kids."

Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, Dhadak is the Hindi remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat. The film surpassed the first day collections of another Karan Johar movie - Student Of The Year (which marked Bollywood debut of Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan). Dhadak is now Bollywood's highest grosser with newcomers.
