Vinay Pathak spoofs someone very famous in Salman's Hanuman Da Damdaar

The film has been voiced by Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Kunal Kemmu, Chunky Pandey, Vinay and others.

Mumbai: Everyone is asking Vinay Pathak who is he spoofing as Popat Sharma in ‘Hanuman Da Damdaar, but all he does is smile.

“Did you figure who I was spoofing? Did I say I was spoofing someone,” is his cryptic reply. Given Popat Sharma gives sansani news for Jungle Raj Tak, we might be able to hazard a guess.

“It is really no one in particular that I was trying to spoof, though the way news is being treated by today’s media was certainly at the back of my mind. While the news has been shared with all seriousness, it is rather unfortunate how the essence gets lost in the sensationalism. It was interesting the way Ruchi (Narain) thought of getting this character into the film, it is all about how he gets embroiled into the action later on…. It was a fun experience,” expounded Pathak, who is always a hit when it comes to giving voice overs for animation films.

Unlike most animation films made in India, R.A.T. FILMS and writer/director Ruchi Narain insisted on recording the voice overs and then sketching the characters based on the actors who provided the voice overs, “Ruchi and her team did all the work, for me I was just felt like I am sitting there mouthing some dialogues while the animators did all the hard work of drawing sketches and building the character,” asserted Vinay whose character has become the talk of the town since ‘Hanuman Da Damdaar’ trailer launch early this week.

'Hanuman Da Damdaar’ with an ensemble cast featuring voice overs by Salman Khan, Raveena Tandon, Kunal Kemmu, Chunky Pandey, Vinay Pathak, Saurabh Shukla, Makrand Deshpande and Javed Akhtar is slated to release on May 19.
