Rati Agnihotri gets remake right to Ek Duuje Ke Liye, film to go on floors soon
Mumbai: Rati Agnihotri had been trying to acquire the rights of 'Ek Duuje Ke Liye' for a few years. Now that her tie up with the Prasad group is through, the actress has finally managed to get her hands on the remake rights of the film. According to reports, Rati is eager to being work on the project early next year.
Rati, made her Bollywood debut with the 1981 cult romantic film, 'Ek Duuje Ke Liye' opposite Kamal Haasan. Interestingly, the film was a remake of director K Balachander’s Tamil film, 'Maro Charitra' which also had Kamal Haasan playing the male lead.
The tragic love story will see the actress' son Tanuj Virwani stepping into Kamal's shoes. The script, which is still being drafted, will be adjusted to suit today's times.
Will fans of the film get to see Rati Agnihotri make a cameo in the film? Guess we'll have to wait and find out.
