After Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir khan, Akshay Kumar to market his film
After the success of Special 26 and Baby, Akshay Kumar and director Neeraj Pandey have joined hands again, this time for a romantic thriller titled Rustom. Based on real life incidents, the film marks the debut of director Tinu Desai, who assisted Neeraj in Special 26. Set in late 1950s, Rustom has Ileana D’cruz as the female lead opposite Akshay.
Akshay, who is known to participate in the edit of his films, will also take to marketing his film this time around. While contemporaries Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have been known to do that for their respective films, this will be Akshay’s first time at marketing a film.
The actor will be using prosthetics to nail the look from the 1950s and don flared pants, charcoal ties and cardigans from the era. The film is scheduled to release on August 12.
