After the news of Malaika Arora Khan filing for a divorce from her husband Arbaaz Khan, another B’town couple Sushant Singh Rajput and Ankita Lokhande have called it quits. The two were together for seven years. Lately though, whispers of “loud fights” and “banging of doors” were floating out of paradise.
The problem was Sushant and Ankita’s respective careers. One was so much on the upswing that the graph touched the sky. The other, sadly, was not taking off. Says a source, “After Sushant quit television his career in films immediately took off. Ankita continued doing television for a while, then quit for the large screen. But the offers did not come. At least, not the kind she hoped for.”
The unequal careers precipitated fights between them. “Not that Sushant was not encouraging of Ankita’s career. He did all he could but never got down to actually recommending her for roles. Maybe this hurt Ankita,” says a source. On Holi, Sushant made a solo appearance at a bash with Jacqueline Fernandes.
“The couple is hoping to iron out their differences. That is why they won’t announce their split” says a young actress.
