As Kabir Khan prepares to make a film on the Indian cricket team’s world cup victory in the 1983 ODI championship, with Ranveer Singh playing the role of Kapil Dev, we hear that there’s a web series based on the same event being planned. Sources reveal that several actors have auditioned for roles in the web series, and look tests are being conducted to see if they fit their parts. “I auditioned for a role, but I was not told about the production house. I had to sign an NDA,” an actor says, on condition of anonymity.
You may remember that the film version of ’83, was to have been directed by the National-Award-winning director Sanjay Puran Singh. But when he had a falling out with the producers, he opted out of the project and was replaced by Kabir.
