Mumbai: Trolls have proved their presence in huge numbers on multiple occasions and they did once again.

The latest under their attack is Pakistani actress Saba Qamar, who featured in last year’s sleeper hit ‘Hindi Medium’ opposite Irrfan Khan.

Saba’s pictures as screengrabs from a behind-the-scenes photoshoot video, where she is seen in a see-through top, before she put on a blazer, and cigarette in hand, went viral on social media and many had unpleasant comments towards her.

Asking her if she is a Muslim anymore, trolls said actresses were only after money and fame, without any values and that they were ‘drowning Pakistani in shame' with their ‘shameless’ acts, ‘exposure’.

And most of them compared Saba to Mahira Khan, who was also ‘caught’ smoking with Ranbir Kapoor wearing 'backless dress’, in New York few months ago.

Check out some of the ‘mentionable’ comments:

Saba received support on social media from her colleagues like Adnan Siddiqui, who acted in Sridevi’s ‘Mom’, who was deeply saddened by it and refused to work with, without naming, the man who was behind this.

Another actor, Osman Khalid Butt condemned the ‘familiar misogynistic, repulsive rhetoric’ and asked trolls to stop commenting and sharing the pictures and instead speak out against the one who did it for social media infamy.

Apart from the actresses being slut-shamed for bikini pictures, many celebrities like Aamir Khan and daughter Ira, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Suhana Khan, Hina Khan, have previously been questioned about their ‘Muslim’ credentials.

Is the trolls’ menace getting fiercer day by day?
