Mumbai: For any actor, juggling between two very different film industries could be taxing but not Rakul Preet Singh. Last seen in Bollywood in 2014-release ‘Yaariyan’, the lovely actress is all set to appear in a Bollywood flick again with Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee in Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Aiyaary’.

While many may call it a ‘comeback’ of some sorts, Rakul looks at it as just another project she is doing. Talking to TOI, the actress revealed the reasons behind her two-year long hiatus (from Bollywood), her loyalty list and what lured her into saying yes to ‘Aiyaary’.

“The main reason for taking up this film was the lure of collaborating with a brilliant director like Neeraj Pandey and sharing the screen with the likes of Siddharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee. And last but not the least, the brilliant script. It's like a perfect package. The film is based on two real life incidents and both Manoj and Siddharth play army officers. The film is based on the relationship between a senior and junior officer who share different ideologies. I play an IT professional who is in love with Siddharth. Both Siddharth and Manoj have started shooting in Kashmir, I'll soon be joining the film's shoot in Delhi,” explained Rakul Preet.

Lack of good, convincing scripts played a crucial role behind her break from Bollywood. “Well, something good (referring to scripts) has to come my way right? I was occupied with my commitments in Tollywood, and the roles that were offered to me in Hindi weren't as good as the ones that were coming my way here. I want to do films which will make me proud when I look back at them later in my career,” she said.

As far as preference is concerned, Tollywood will always have an upper hand over Bollywood, thanks to the unconditional love she has received down South. “I don't look at this film as a comeback, but like another film to do. Also, as far as my loyalties go, they will remain with Telugu cinema. The kind of love and appreciation I have got from everybody is just incredible. I still have so much more to explore,” she added.

Already an A-lister in Tollywood, Rakul Preet Singh is working with megastar Mahesh Babu in ‘SPYder’ that is being directed by Murugugadoss. Speaking about the latest development, she revealed, “The shooting of SPYder is almost over; just two songs and the climax part are left which will be wrapped up soon. So, you'll see me playing a medical student. She a very quirky girl, a little clumsy by nature but is very sure of herself and has her own ideas. Also, I'll be sporting a very different look, 'a never-seen-before one. I'm afraid that's all I can reveal about my character in the movie for now.”
