Mumbai’s hip hop group Kings United, based on whom the Varun Dhawan-Shraddha Kapoor starrer ABCD2 was made, has yet another film being made on them.
Recently, the Kings United won the American reality show World Of Dance and shot to international limelight over night. This has interested producer Shailendra Singh who was formerly with Percept and has backed films like Makdee, Dor, Phir Milenge and Corporate among others. He recently took over the rights of the group and is in the process of scripting the film.
“Kings United has a great story to tell, part of which was in ABCD 2. They will also be seen performing in the next Varun-Shraddha starrer Street Dancer. It will be interesting to see if Varun will yet again reprise the role of Suresh Mukund, the group’s lead, in the biopic by Shailendra Singh. Suresh and Varun share a fabulous bond and Varun has been constantly posting comments about their win,” says a trade source.
