Mumbai: Director Rajkumar Hirani is happy that his good friend Sanjay Dutt is back. The 'Munnabhai' director was present at the Pune airport to receive Sanjay, after he was released from Yerwada Jail.

While people gathered outside the jail welcomed him with smiles, Rajkumar wielded a movie camera. Sanjay's exit from prison will be documented as the first shot of the biopic Rajkumar is directing with Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay in reel life.

Talking to the media at the Pune airport, the director said, "I am obviously very happy that Sanjay is back. My association with him is for a long time and will continue for long."

A day prior to Sanjay's release, the '3 Idiots' director said that he is looking forward to the release of his 'Munnabhai' star and is confident that the actor will have a great second innings.

In a video message Raju said, “We are happy that Sanju is back. He has served his term and he's going to come back and play his second innings. Indians are famous for scoring well in the second innings. I'm sure he'll come back and rock it. I look forward to his biopic and also to starting Munna Bhai 3 with him very soon."
