Taapsee Pannu, who is currently shooting in New Delhi for her next, Makhna, was mobbed on the sets by her fans. Her last outing, Pink, is undoubtedly revolutionary in terms of the amount of popularity it gained both commercially and critically. The movie also did wonders for Taapsee’s popularity, as her on-screen character was loved and praised by many.
An eyewitness reveals, “Taapsee, who is shooting for Makhna with Saqib Saleem, was really touched when she met her fans. Her admirers, especially the girls, showed up on the sets and appreciated Pink for its strong message. Taapsee took some time out from the ongoing shoot and interacted with the girls, sharing their real life eve-teasing stories. However, because of this, the shoot of the movie was delayed, and the production had to increase the security on the sets.”
When the makers of Pink introduced the #NoMeansNo campaign, it went viral for all the right reasons. The fact that a woman’s nod of disapproval is the final decision was reinforced through the successful campaign. And now, Taapsee has been approached by institutes from countries like US and UK, among others, to talk about the issue of consent.
Says a source close to the actress, “There are a few Indian students studying in international institutes, who have reached out to Taapsee, to address this sensitive topic. She will be sharing her own experience from her life, as well as from the movie. The institutes that have approached Taapsee are from Australia, the UK and the US. She will be travelling to these places in February, after completing the shoot for Makhna.”
