Knew I'd never work with Salman Khan again, confesses Govinda

A lot has been written about his soured equation with Salman Khan post they did 'Partner' together.

Mumbai: Govinda has had multiple comebacks, a few successful, and a few borderline disastrous.

The actor, who after a string of flops, returned to David Dhawan's monster hit of a 'Hitch' adaptation, 'Partner,' alongside Salman Khan, had found his lost fanbase all over again.

However, another lull followed, post which Mani Ratnam cast him as Hanuman in his modern day adaptation of Ramayan from Raavan's perspective, 'Raavan'. However, the debacle of the film didn't help his cause.

The actor then appeared in appreciated performances in commercial duds like 'Kill Dil' and 'Happy Ending,' but their failure only meant that his career stagnated big-time.

A lot has been written about his soured equation with Salman, and in an interview with Mid-day, he opened up about it, which supposedly proved detrimental to his career.

"I knew I'd never work with Salman again. I don't think Partner 2 will ever happen. At the same time, I am indebted to him for what he did for me," he was quoted as saying.

He also confessed that Salman Khan and he differ on a lot many things, owing to which the friction might have cropped up.

"I don't want to get into the reasons [behind the shelving]. It's just that Salman and I have studied the same subject differently. We belong to two different schools of thought. Once Rajinikanth said, 'Do not do what your heart does not want to'. I believe in it," he said.

The actor will soon be seen in 'Aa Gaya Hero,' followed by Anurag Basu's 'Jagga Jasoos,' alongside Ranbir Kapoor.
