Rohit Shetty keen to make biopic on 'Shivaji Maharaj' with Ajay Devgn

Director Rohit Shetty is the man behind India’s best action films. The Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone-starrer Chennai Express not only brought him fame but also made him one of India’s most highly paid directors.

At a cinema summit held in Mumbai recently, Rohit revealed his interest in making a film on Shivaji Maharaj. “I wish to make a huge film on Shivaji Maharaj. However, a huge budget is needed to make this film and I am unable to gather the desired amount. Though I definitely want to make it, I have no idea when it will happen,” he adds.

So whom will he cast as Shivaji Maharaj? “Ajay Devgn,” says the director.

This super successful director has no qualms in revealing a trade secret. “Most of my dance and action scenes comprise more than 100 dancers and fighters. Even though they might not be working for the entire day, they are paid the full amount for the day. These dancers and fighters hardly get work after they have crossed the age of 40-45. With their blessings, my films have made '100 crore and more,” says Rohit who gets a lot of satisfaction in seeing his audiences happy.
