Actor Ali Fazal is all set to make his anti-hero debut in Excel Entertainment’s Mirzapur, a web series directed by Gurmeet Singh. Revolving around the drug mafia underbelly in a small town in India, Mirzapur will see Ali playing a rogue with a whimsical side. The director hopes to incorporate Ali’s actual whimsical persona in the series.
Says Ali of this real-reel mixture, “I can only tell you that I weirdly felt at ease during moments when I shouldn’t have. It’s scary. I won’t reveal more as I want the audiences to experience this journey first hand.”
Ali Fazal, who is currently shooting for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s romantic drama Milan Talkies in Mumbai, will also be seen along with Sanjay Dutt in the latter’s Hindi remake of Deva Katta’s Telugu blockbuster, Prasthanam, with Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Satyajeet Dubey and Amyra Dastur. Produced by Sanjay Dutt Productions, the rustic intense drama on floors in June.
