Kabir Singh team lays low post release
While critics are going too harsh on Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh, calling it to be promoting toxic masculinity and misogyny, yet this swag-filled remake of 2017 Telugu cult film Arjun Reddy is well on the way to becoming one of the biggest hits of 2019. And basking in the unexpectedly huge success, the Kabir Singh team are in no mood to defend themselves against the allegations.
Apparently, the cast and crew have been asked by the producers to ‘lie low’ and offer no defense for the emotional violence of the subject matter and the protagonist’s arrogant disdain for conventions. Confirming this a source close to the film said, “It’s true. No one is going to sit down and explain why Kabir Singh is what he is. There is really no explanation. And the more one tries to explain the more difficult it gets to fob off the growing volley of attacks, criticism and questioning. So it’s best to just keep quiet.”
According to the sources, the cast and crew are all set for a huge celebratory bash. The film is expected to make huge profits. The happiest is Shahid Kapoor whose career gets a massive boost with this success. A source close to the actor says, “Among his two releases of 2019, in Padmaavat Shahid was robbed of all the credit. And Batti Gul Meter Chalu was a thundering flop. He has made up for it with Kabir Singh. The batti is finally chalu.”
