Congress slam Rishi for anti-Gandhi tweets, name public toilet after him

The party workers gathered in Shivaji Park area of Allahabad and hung a board bearing Rishi Kapoor's name outside a Sulabh Shauchalya.

Mumbai: In an interesting turn of events preceding the ongoing war between the Congress supporters and Rishi Kapoor, party workers in Allahabad have named a Sulabh Shauchalaya (public toilet) after the veteran star.

According to reports, dozens of Congress workers gathered in Shivaji Park area of Allahabad and hung a board bearing Rishi Kapoor’s name outside a Sulabh Shauchalya.

Protesters argued that naming public assets after the Gandhi family is justified because the country prospered after achieving freedom due to them.

Recently, Congress workers had staged a protest outside Kapoor’s house in suburban Bandra in Mumbai and also pelted stones and shouted slogans against the actor.

It all began when the actor in a slew of tweets had said the names of the prominent places should be changed after those who worked for the welfare of the country.

Actor Anupam Kher and others had come out in support of Kapoor’s views, and Rishi recently tweeted his thanks to all his supporters. He wrote, “Thank you all for your unprecedented unconditional support, love and solidarity for what I said. Mera Bharat Mahaan!”
