Aashiqui 3 after Ek Villain 2
Mohit Suri will soon be starting the writing on 'Aashiqui 3', based on an idea that was discussed over three years ago, but only after he completes working on 'Ek Villain 2'.
While the filmmaker has already completed the script of 'Ek Villain 2' which is being bankrolled by both Ekta Kapoor and T Series, he will start shooting only when the coast is clear.
He has already cast John Abraham, Disha Patani, Aditya Roy Kapoor and Tara Sutaria in the sequel to 'Ek Villain', which had Siddharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in it.
“Mohit is very gung-ho on 'Aashiqui 3'. 'Aashiqui 2' put him back on track and ended a bleak period for him.
It also marked Aditya Roy Kapoor’s first hit after two flops as a side hero and Shraddha Kapoor’s first hit after three flops.
Hence it has been a watershed moment in their lives and Mohit is said to start scripting the film when he completes 'Ek Villain 2'. He already has a germ of the idea with him,” say sources.
There were a multitude of rumours about the third part of Aashiqui, ever since there were talks about Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra dating each other.
But then Alia and Sid broke off and the break up put a spanner in the works for the film.
Mohit had directed the part 2 of the film whose original version was directed by Mahesh Bhatt in the early 90s.
While Aditya Roy Kapur the director’s best bet after 'Aashiqui 2' was also being pencilled in to play the lead, work started off on 'Sadak 2' with both Alia and Aditya playing lead with Pooja Bhatt and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles.
The film is reportedly based on around Sanjay Dutt’s character.
