How Sara Ali Khan nabbed Simmba!
It was Sara Ali Khan’s keen interest to work with Rohit Shetty in Simmba opposite the effervescent Ranveer Singh that made her diligently follow the filmmaker. “Rohit is the king of commercial cinema and Ranveer is the country’s biggest superstar; working with both of them is a big deal,” Sara said during an interview. She further added, “I believe in luck, and it is my belief that today I am talking about my second film Simmba.”
Thrilled with her debut film Kedarnath’s success, the actress confesses that all was not well during the film’s shoot and perhaps to be cautious, she approached Rohit to cast her in his next. “During Kedarnath, I saw a lot of ups and downs, and no one knew what was going to happen. I went to Rohit sir and asked for work. I met him frequently and repeatedly sent him messages. Finally, I got an answer,” she confesses.
Rohit too backs Sara’s words, saying, “Sara herself kept on sending so many messages, ke main pak gaya! After repeated messages and phone calls from Sara, I spoke to Karan Johar and told him that I will make the film in just four months and we can release it before Kedarnath arrived. But the next morning, Kedarath’s director Abhishek Kapoor called me and asked me to proceed with casting Sara in the film.”
