There’s a silent battle raging between Salman Khan and Arjun Kapoor. One can’t really call it a battle since nobody can take a panga with Salman Khan and hope to win. So Arjun Kapoor will be aware of the consequences. Rumours of Arjun Kapoor’s exceedingly close friendship with Salman’s brother, Arbaaz’s ex-wife have been doing the rounds for some years now. With Arbaaz and Malaika’s marriage on the rocks, the rumours have gained further momentum. Says a source in the know, “When these rumours reached Salman’s ears he confronted Arjun who promptly denied them. But now the whispers of the friendship between Malaika and Arjun are louder. And Salman is very upset. Everybody knows when it comes to his family he won’t tolerate anyone causing any havoc.”
Arjun’s friendship with Malaika Arora is likely to affect his career now. Says the source, “Salman isn’t telling anybody not to work with Arjun. He doesn’t need to. But a lot of filmmakers are avoiding Arjun because they don’t want to offend Salman.” Adding to the complex situation is the fact that Arjun’s father Boney Kapoor is a close friend of Salman. “In fact when Boney’s career as a producer was going through a financial crisis Salman had offered to work in No Entry free of cost. Now he’s embarrassed to face Salman,” adds the source. Apparently Boney had “advised” his son to stay away from Salman’s former bhabhi. But now with the divorce happening… they are back to being friends.
