Forbes India Celebrity 100 list: Salman takes the top spot as he beats SRK

While both the Khans made it to the top three, Aamir dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since 2012.

Mumbai: Thanks to his blockbuster film ‘Sultan’, Salman Khan has taken the top spot back from Shah Rukh Khan on the 2016 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List. Salman’s total earnings stand at Rs 270.33 crores, whereas Shah Rukh, takes the second spot with his total earnings of Rs 221.75 crores.

The Forbes' India Celebrity 100 List ranking is based on two parameters: estimates of entertainment earnings and estimates of fame.

Salman's strong year was led by the commercial success of (2015) Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sultan. His total earnings constituted 9.84 percent of the total wealth—Rs 2,745 crore—of all the top 100 celebrities for the year.

While both the Khans made it to the top three, Aamir dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since 2012. Since the actor had no release or endorsed a brand during the desired time frame, he couldn’t make it to the top and now stand on number 13.

Other actors who made it to the top ten are Akshay Kumar (4), Deepika Padukone (6), Priyanka Chopra (8), Amitabh Bachchan (9), Hrithik Roshan (10).

Rajinikanth, who mesmerized audiences with ‘Kabali’, is at number 30 with total earnings of Rs. 35 crores. Ranveer Singh is at number 12 with total earnings of Rs 67.42 crores, whereas Ranbir Kapoor is at number 19.
