Veteran actor Pawan Malhotra joins Varun Dhawan in laugh riot Judwaa 2
Mumbai: Pawan Malhotra is a multi-faceted personality with films like 'Salim Langade Par Mat Ro,' 'Buddhasdeb,' 'Jab We Met' and 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' in his portfolio. He will now be seen in 'Mubarakan' and 'Judwaa 2'. Talking about working on a David Dhawan film and with Varun Dhawan, he shares his experiences from the sets of 'Judwaa 2'.
The shooting of the film is on schedule at Film City in Mumbai. It commences this month and will continue until mid-July. The film is all set to release in September 2017. A few portions of the film have already been shot in London.
Pawan Malhotra, who plays the pivotal character of a police officer says, “Yes, this film is a remake of Judwaa [1997] but being a David Dhawan’s film it has to have innumerable gags. The film will have a freshness that the audience will identify with.”
Working with Varun for the first time in the film, Pawan says, “I have known him since his childhood. But this is the first time I am getting to work with his father, director David Dhawan. I was offered various roles in his earlier films, too. Due to unavoidable circumstances, we could not work together. Playing the role of a police officer with the foreign lady police officer was indeed fun. The story is like the good ol’ cop-thief tale.”
About an action scene, he adds, “We are running after Varun, but are we chasing the right Varun in a stadium is the million-dollar question. For this, you will simply have to wait and watch the movie.”
On his future films, he says, “Mubarakan will see me in a totally different role. It is a family oriented film. Anil Kapoor, Ratna Phatak and myself are siblings in the film. The confusion of Arjun Kapoor’s marriage forms the crux of the story. Next, I play a lawyer in a film titled Azad Maidan,” he concludes.
