The ensemble of Anurag Basu’s next film is getting bigger and it is likely to see the Dangal girls Sanya Malhotra and Fatima Sana Shaikh uniting again. The duo recently shot for a commercial, which is already on air and the girls will perhaps share the frame once again.
Basu’s next film is a dark action comedy starring Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pankaj Tripathi. The director had already filmed with Bachchan last year and is presently juggling his schedule between the shooting of his television reality show Super Dancer and parts of his film featuring Rao and Sheikh in Bhopal.
“A few more actors have to sign the film,” says a source while revealing more details. “The film is a dark action comedy and a genre that even Anurag has not attempted before. The film is indeed the second part of Life In A... Metro series but will not be called so due to intellectual property rights issues. Bhushan Kumar is producing the film,” adds the source.
Speaking about the film, Basu says, “It’s my pleasure to be working with Bhushan Kumar for my next which is a dark comic anthology. It’s our first collaboration but doesn’t seem like one. I am extremely happy to have found this talented new generation cast, though I will trust my old friend Pritam for music as always!”
Producer Bhushan Kumar is equally thrilled and expresses his desire to associate with Basu again and again.
