Anuja Chauhan's third book to go on celluloid

Sonam Kapoor bagged the rights for Chauhan's second book Battle For Bittora.

The Zoya Factor, the first novel by Indian author, advertiser and screenwriter Anuja Chauhan is being turned into a film starring Sonam Kapoor, Dulquer Salmaan and Sanjay Kapoor. Even as the book was taking the shape of a film in the hands of Director Abhishek Sharma, Sonam bagged the rights for Chauhan’s second book Battle For Bittora. It will see Veere Di Wedding’s director Shashanka Ghosh at the helm with Sonam playing the role of an aspiring politician.

But that’s not all for Chauhan to celebrate. Her third book — Those Pricey Thakur Girls — might also turn into a film in coming time.

Mumbai: “A leading production house is on the way to try and get the rights of the book Those Pricey Thakur Girls with the intent of turning it into a film. They have acquired the rights and are in the process of formalising the agreement after ensuring that they have the IPR for the same through public notices,” says a source in the trade. Interestingly, Those Pricey Thakur Girls was earlier turned into a television series four years ago.
