Two-year old Taimur now has a doll that’s been modeled in his likeness. Toy stores in Kerala are now stocking a Taimur look-alike doll for fans who just can’t get enough of the star child. The fan-frenzy that Taimur commands easily outweighs the popularity of his parents Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan, a fact they are understandably proud of.
In fact, Taimur’s popularity even rivals that of the three Khan superstars Shah Rukh, Aamir and Salman. It is his chubby cheeks, rosy lips, big round green eyes and a direct eye contact into the lens that makes him the favourite. Be it he waving a bye at the camera or simply shouting a ‘No’ at the flashing lights, his every move is noted. One of his video retorting back at the paps with ‘Tim’ went viral.
And now a Taimur doll! When contacted, the bemused father Saif responds, “Maybe I should copyright Taimur’s name. But seriously, it is fine. I hope the dolls sell well. It’s like having your face on a pack of sparklers during Diwali.”
While the protective and slightly worried parents grapple with their little son’s growing popularity, they can only hope and pray for a saner, more sensible media attitude towards their child.
Sighs Saif, “I only ask that they bless him in return, and that he’s safe and happy in life.”
