After his heartfelt video message on patriotism and eschewal of Pakistani artistes on Tuesday, Karan Johar has opted out of his commitment to be on Kapil Sharma’s show.
“Ever since Kapil and Karan hosted an awards show together in 2015, they’ve gotten along really well. Kapil was keen to have Karan on the show and the latter had committed months ago that he would be on The Kapil Sharma Show to promote Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Who was to know of the recent developments?” says a source.
However, to make up for his absence, Karan had requested Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to be on the show along with her co-stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.
“With Fawad Khan out of the picture and Karan opting to stay away, Aishwarya, who has only a brief role, has sportingly joined in for Kapil’s show, even though she was not meant to be part of the promotional profile of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” adds the source.
