Mumbai: A few weeks ago, Yash Raj Films announced their next project ‘Sui Dhaaga- Made in India’ with Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan in the most creative way possible. Prior to the film’s announcement, Anushka and Varun had posted cryptic messages on Twitter, which led to the film’s official announcement.
However, there are reports, which claim that Varun Dhawan was not the first choice for this film. It was Ranbir Kapoor who was initially approached for ‘Sui Dhaaga- Made in India.’
According to a report on a leading portal, Ranbir was very much interested in taking up this film, which is directed by the critically acclaimed film ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’s writer-director Sharat Katariya, but backed off from this film, after giving high hopes to the director, and this is how Varun Dhawan came into the picture.
Compared to Ranbir Kapoor, Varun took less time to give his nod to this film, which has Anushka Sharma as the female lead.
Talking about the film, Varun Dhawan said, "From Gandhiji (Mahatma Gandhi) to Modiji (Narendra Modi), our country’s leaders have always endorsed the mantra of Made in India. With Sui Dhaaga, I’m proud to take their message to millions of movie lovers in a manner that is entertaining and relevant."
Anushka added, "I always get excited with unique ideas that have human interest stories. Sui Dhaaga is a story of self-reliance that I believe will connect to the grassroots level with every Indian."
However, Ranbir, who rejected this offer, is reportedly praising the film’s script in his fraternity circle.
‘Sui Dhagga- Made in India’ will go on floors very soon....
