Watch: Kathakali director trolls CBFC for cuts, releases Nude song

The Central Board of Film Certification has denied certificate to Malayalam film on the grounds of nudity.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) recently courted controversy when it denied certificate to Malayalam film 'Kathakali' on the grounds of nudity. Last week, Malayalam film directors and technicians staged a dharna in front of the office of the Censor Board's office.

The two hour-long feature film by Sijo Kannanaikkal revolves around the life of an orphan man, who tries to create a space and identity of his own in the society around. The board wants the removal of the climax scene where the protagonist removes his Kathakali attire and crosses the river as a symbolic mark of protest against the society.

While, the movie-makers have moved the Kerala High Court in the matter, they have also released a hilarious video trolling the functioning of Censor Board.
