While she was last seen making special appearances in Bombay Talkies and Zero, actress Karisma Kapoor will soon be seen in Ekta Kapoor’s web-series Mentalhood. With this, the actress has finally agreed to take up a quirky project and revealed her first look from the show where she will play a mother of three kids.
Sharing her look and name of her character on Instagram she wrote, “Meet Meira Sharma. A small town mom trying to navigate through this jungle of Mumbai momzillas. She knows parenting is about the right balance...it’s the finding of that balance that’s the tricky part. Her muddled thoughts are put on a blog...where she reaches out to every mom. SHE IS YOU. SHE IS ME. SHE IS EVERY MOM. A tired, stressed out, worrying, caring....mental mom (sic).”
However, if a source close to the actress is to be believed, it was her brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan who suggested that she tries her hand on the digital platform. The source further adds that after Sacred Games, Saif is thrilled about this space and has suggested not just to Karisma but also to his wife Kareena.
To be streamed on ALTBalaji, the producer of the show Ekta Kapoor expressing her contentment of Karisma finally agreeing to the project, wrote, “I welcome @therealkarismakapoor on board to frontline this amazing ensemble of mommies! She was d first n only choice n it took many mtngs ( n ten fully bound scripts ) to get this perfectionist on board !!!p.s Thanku Reshma (sic).”
Directed by Karishma Kohli, Mentalhood will showcase the topsy-turvy ride of mothers from all walks of life and how they manoeuvre their way through unreasonable expectations to raise their children.
