It is a well-known fact that Sonakshi Sinha is an ardent admirer of Priyanka Chopra and has often appreciated her performances on the national and international front. The actress, who acted as Priyanka Chopra for Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar when she grooved to the title track of Mujhse Shaadi Karogi during the Da Bangg tour, recently spoke about her bond with Priyanka and why she looks up to the actress.
“Priyanka and I are not text-buddies but whenever we meet there is a fondness between us. I really look up to her in a lot of ways and she has always been nice to me, whenever we have met. She is a very inspiring person, with the kind of work that she has done and the number of years that she has spent in the industry. It is not very easy for an actress to sustain for so long,” she says.
She also spoke about why she considered Priyanka a woman achiever in her own right. “The way she has not only conquered the Hindi film industry, but also made her mark in the West is commendable. She has followed her dreams in life and that is the hallmark of a strong woman. That’s what is really worth appreciating,” Sonakshi reveals.
Incidentally, Sonakshi had recently made a remark about the demarcation between “female-centric” and “well-defined” roles, while talking about her role in Noor. She reiterates her point once again: “I am happy doing great roles these days and as an actor, it pushes me to the next level.”
