Urban girls can learn a lot from the girls in my village: Darshan Kumaar

Mumbai: Every day we are swarmed by ghastly news about how women are being exploited, pawed on the streets of India. Delhi is even called the rape capital of the nation, but actor Darshan Kumaar recently shared a very interesting insight about the girls from his hometown.

Perhaps, a leaf from their books might save a life.

“I am from Delhi. But what people forget is that Delhi is also made up of hundreds of small villages. Mine is one of the hundreds, a place where I don’t believe our girls are curbed from living a life they choose with the fear that they will be harassed,” Darshan reminisced.

“From a very young age, we are taught that if someone acts tough or smart, pick the closest stone and break his head, baaki the family will take care of all the repercussions. If every girl is quick to defend, even before thinking, it could save many,” stated the actor.

Darshan will next be seen alongside pia Bajpai in ‘Mirza Juuliet’.
