Watch: Rajkummar is all set to sweep 2017 awards with Vikramaditya's Trapped

Mumbai: Vikramaditya Motwane, despite having just two films to his directorial credits, is one of the most celebrated filmmakers in the history today.

And his upcoming film, 'Trapped' is among the most anticipated films within cinephiles for the very same reason.

The Rajkummar Rao starrer survivalist thriller has been creating ripples across film festival circuits and the first trailer provides ample justification as to why.

As per the trailer, the lead character portrayed by Rajkummar Rao is locked inside his own house, where he's newly moved into. His attempts to get himself out of the potentially fatal mishap forms the crux of the story.

Such is the poignancy and eccentricity in Rajkummar's portrayal, if one is to go by the trailer, that the national award actor is all set to sweep the major awards this season, unless there's a sensational upset in the offing this year.

The background score also succeeds in elevating the inherent tension in the theme of the film, which has previously been excellently utilised in such film as 'Buried'.

The film is slated to release on March 17.
