Alia to commence shoot on Ranveer-Zoya's Gully Boy sooner than expected

Mumbai: Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt’s crackling chemistry has been quite evident in the duo’s hilarious ads together. This has only helped pique the interest surrounding the release of Zoya Akhtar’s highly anticipated movie ‘Gully Boy,’ based on the lives of Mumbai rappers Divine and Naezy.

While Ranveer is currently neck deep in the nation-wide furore surrounding Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming magnum opus, ‘Padmavati,’ Alia has been busy working on Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Raazi,’ co-starring Vicky Kaushal.

And now, if the latest update is to be taken seriously, the actress will commence shoot on Zoya’s film, in January 2018!

Alia, who’s currently perched in London to bring in sister Shaheen’s birthday, reportedly had a meeting at Zoya’s office alongside Ranveer, before shew flew off, according to Mumbai Mirror.

A leading tabloid had earlier quoted Alia as saying, "It's a new space for me and I'd wanted to work with Zoya Akhtar ever since I saw Luck By Chance."

Speaking on her co-star Ranveer, Alia has excitedly said, "Ranveer is crazy and unabashed and I love that about him. Both of us are passionate about our films and have a huge mutual admiration society. We've done some mad commercials together so it's great to be doing a film now."

Alia’s last release was the commercially successful ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’.
