Did Karan Johar choose Ranbir Kapoor over Katrina Kaif?
The battle lines drawn between former lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are now forcing their friends to pick sides too. Close friends of the duo are now being forced to show their loyalty to one over the other.
The first casualty of this loyalty test was director Ayan Mukherjee, who is Ranbir’s close pal. Ayan has apparently dissociated himself from buddy Katrina after the couple split up. Aarti Shetty too seems to be keeping a distance from the actress.
The strain became even more obvious when Katrina, a regular at Aarti’s parties, was nowhere to be seen at her birthday bash. The party had seen the likes of Ranbir, Ayan and Karan Johar attending it. The actress, reportedly, did not even feature on the guest list. Katrina was not invited to Ayan’s private get together party a few months ago either.
Now, one hears that Katrina has lost another buddy in the industry; Karan, who is a close friend of Ranbir and his family, is said to be avoiding Katrina. Says a source, “Karan avoided taking sides in the Ranbir-Katrina war for the longest time. He is fond of both, but when push came to shove, he had to pitch his tent with Ranbir, who is also the leading man in his movie Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Karan is close not just with Ranbir but also his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.”
Somehow, Katrina and Karan’s professional journey has never been quite compatible — the actress has only worked with Karan in the item number Chikni Chameli in Agneepath. She had even signed up for Dostana 2, but that ended up getting shelved. Ranbir, on the other hand, has had a successful stint in Karan’s movies like Wake Up Sid, Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani and will be seen in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
