John Abraham's warning call to Shahid Kapoor for Batti Gul Meter Chalu

Batti Gul Meter Chalu' is helmed by Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' (produced by Kriarj) director Shree Narayan Singh.

It is a well-known fact that once-renowned producers Kriarj Entertainment, who gave successful hits like ‘Rustom’, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ and recently ‘Padman’, have now come under the scanner.

While they were going successful with Akshay Kumar films, the producers started facing trouble once they moved out and associated their names with other projects.

The recently released Anushka Sharma starrer ‘Pari’, despite being released, took off their name post the release.

The troubles for Kriarj began when Abhishek Kapoor filed a legal case with Prernaa Arora of Kriarj for non-payment. Following suit was John Abraham for ‘Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran’.

Both the movies got new producers on board, but another movie (not-so-surprisingly produced by Kriarj) ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ starring Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, was stalled (guess the reason?)

It was right then that John, who shares a warm rapport with Shahid, reportedly called up Kapoor to warn him about Kriarj.

A source told DNA, “John, who was then in the midst of his legal battle with KriArj over ‘Parmanu: The Story Of Pokhran’, told Shahid to be careful about whatever moves he made in lieu of BGMC. Besides talking about their respective films with the then common producer, Shahid appreciated the fact that John called on him.”

Interestingly, ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ is helmed by Shree Narayan Singh, who directed ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ (produced by Kriarj) and yet he is dealing with a legal case that has been filed over him.
