The entire Bachchan and Rai clan came out in full attendance at the premiere of Sarbjit to support Aishwarya, who has been getting rave reviews for her power-packed performance in the film. Everyone from Amitabh, Abhishek and Jaya to Mr and Mrs Rai and Aditya Rai (Ash’s brother) marked their attendance at the much-anticipated premiere. However, not all went according to the plan during what seemed like a fun family night out. And it can only be explained by Mr Abhishek Bachchan.
Here’s what happened — after the entire family (the Bachchans and the Rais) had posed for a group picture, photographers requested Ash and Abhishek to stay back for a few couple clicks. But Abhishek had already started making his way to the theatre with his arm around ma-in-law Brindya Rai.
Ash called out to him in vain, and even asked her father to bring him to her. The wifey was persistent, so were cameramen who continued to holler: “Abhishek sir, photo”!
He looked reluctant — perhaps he thought photographers wanted to take solo pictures of Ash — but relented at Ash’s request.
But that photo session did not go well. An eyewitness tells us, “When Abhishek and Ash were posing together, the paparazzi constantly gave cues to Ash alone and were heard saying ‘ma’am here please, ma’am centre’ and so on. This irked Abhishek after a while and he extricated his arm from Ash’s and told the lensmen: ‘iska lo’.” He then walked determinedly towards the venue.”
Ash looked visibly embarrassed and wanted to end the photo session immediately. “What just happened,” was clearly written on her confused face.
But her team would have none of it. The actress was let off only after the lensmen had their fill. She flew solo. Abhimaan, anybody?
