Akshay Kumar backs banned film Nanak Shah Fakir, to launch trailer

Akshay had earlier shifted Padman's release date to give Padmaavat', facing trouble from Karni Sena, solo release.

Mumbai: A film ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ released in 2015 after having a tough time even getting clearance from the CBFC.

Within a week of its release, the film was banned by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC).

Now superstar Akshay Kumar has come forward to lend his support to the film which got rejected initially.

The movie’s producer Sikka told Mid-Day, "It is kind of Akshay to support our film and launch its trailer. His help means a lot to us. Our movie spreads the message of love and goodness. It follows Guru Nanak Devji's journey across the globe, spreading the message of Ik Onkar, equality of all religions, castes and genders."

Earlier to this, Akshay had shifted the release date of ‘Padman’ to give ‘Padmaavat’, a movie which was facing trouble in release from the Karni Sena, solo release.
