Mani Ratnam shows on-screen love in magical way, says Aditi Rao Hydari

Her another wish was ticked off her bucket list when she was approached for the director's 'Kaatru Veliyidai'.

Mumbai: Aditi Rao Hydari, who will be seen in Mani Ratnam's upcoming Tamil film, says cinema has no barriers and the filmmaker has a different style of showing love on-screen.

Aditi says that another wish was ticked off her bucket list when she was approached for the director's 'Kaatru Veliyidai'.

"As a kid, I wished to work with Mani Ratnam some day. Years later, I finally shot for 'Kaatru Veliyidai' with him and it broke the complacency within me. I took up the film because I was moved by the character. By the time I finished reading the script, I was in tears," Aditi said in a statement here.

"There are certain roles you want on your resume. This is one of them. Mani sir makes it endearing. He has a natural gift of showing love in a magical way," the 30-year-old said.

The 'Wazir' actress took up the challenge of learning a new language (Tamil) and worked hard to fit into the fabric of a new industry.

"I was certain about the fact that I wanted to perfect the language. I didn't want people to say, 'Oh, she didn't know Tamil and still she wasn't half-bad'. Cinema has no barriers. What drives me is working with the right director. When you like the story and script, the rest doesn't matter."

The romantic film, which also stars actor Karthi in the lead, is slated to release in March.
