Hoping to organise free shows for Padman, says Akshay Kumar

The first song of 'PadMan' released in the presence of Akshay Kumar, Twinkle Khanna, Radhika Apte, R. Balki and others.

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar is coming up as 'Padman' in a story inspired by the menstruation man Arunachalam Muruganamanthan. Post 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha', this is another subject of taboo that Akshay has tapped into. The makers released various posters and the movie's trailer digitally, thus giving us some more insight into the movie. Director R. Balki has in fact termed this superstar a superhero in his movie, and compared him to Batman, Superman and Spiderman. Now this Akshay Kumar-Radhika Apte-Sonam Kapoor starrer has released a song 'Aaj Se Teri'.

This song released in the presence of Akshay, wife Twinkle, Radhika, R. Balki and others.

This song has some super romantic moments, which makes Akshay the perfect husband and a superhero for his wife. Watch the song here:

While Twinkle had earlier mentioned she didn't want to take Akshay for 'Padman' and confirmed the same at the song launch by saying she had some other actors in mind, R. Balki said, "Taking Akshay was a no-brainer."

"I thought Akshay is the absolutely the right guy to play the hero. Once we visualized the film, then I was clear about it," added Balki.

Akshay mentioned that like 'Toilet', 'Padman' too is trying to organise free shows. He said, "Our government had organized free shows during 'Toilet' and we're hoping to do the same with 'Padman'."

When asked about Akshay's pranks, Radhika said, "He's constantly playing pranks."

Coming to her character, Radhika revealed, "The part I had to play is the exact opposite of me." She further went on to add, "So many times Balki sir told me 'Remember, this character is the exact opposite of you'."

Produced by Akshay's wife Mrs. Funny Bones alias Twinkle Khanna, 'Padman' releases on 26th January 2018 with Neeraj Pandey's 'Aiyaary' starring Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee in lead roles.
