Priyanka Chopra plans a Bollywood comeback with Sanjay Leela Bhansali

While Priyanka Chopra is undoubtedly a global star, the less said about her career in Hollywood the better. All her attempts at seeking stardom in Hollywood have hit dead ends. From Baywatch to A Kid Like Jake to Isn’t It Romantic, Hollywood has offered our desi girl only marginal roles.

To compound her career woes, Priyanka’s big ambitious Hollywood project Cowboy Ninja Viking, co-starring Chris Pratt, is as good as shelved. This is the big Hollywood project for which Priyanka had opted out of the Salman Khan starrer Bharat. The actress succeeded in offending many B’Wood filmmakers, who felt she was taking them for granted.

Now, it seems Priyanka has decided to re-consolidate her position in Bollywood. She has apparently met with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the visionary who cast her in Bajirao Mastani. And the two are all set to collaborate on a massive Bollywood project, which would feature the actress in an author-backed role.

Priyanka’s last author-backed outing in Bollywood, Jai Gangaajal, was a disaster.
Interestingly, Bhansali’s favourite actress Deepika Padukone plans on returning post-marriage in a film by his arch-rival Karan Johar. While Priyanka Chopra, who has never been a favourite with Johar (a certain Mr Khan could explain why), is all set to join the Bhansali camp. A clean swap, indeed!
