Abhishek Bachchan seems to be caught in the web. No, he’s neither Spidey nor a fly! He made his Web debut earlier this year with Breathe into the Shadows – the second part of the Breathe series. His film The Bigg Bull, co-starring Ileana D Cruz and produced by Ajay Devgn, has been locked for an OTT release, and now his third project — Ludo — with Rajkummar Rao, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra is set for a digital premiere this Diwali.
“A lot of Abhishek's projects are OTT-friendly ones. Ludo is an anthology of films like its predecessor Life… In A Metro, and this will help it to do well on the Web,” says a source.
But other films of Abhishek’s are getting theatrical releases. “Abhishek has also given the green light for a project with director Tushar Jalota and actresses Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur for producer Dinesh Vijan, which will be announced in the near future. He is also shooting with Sujoy Ghosh’s daughter Diya Annapurna Ghosh, who is directing Bob Biswas a spinoff of the first part of Sujoy’s directorial Kahaani starring Vidya Balan,” adds the source.
Abhishek was last seen on the wide screen in 2018 in the Anurag Kashyap directorial Manmarziyaan in which he shared screen space with Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal, and before that in Housefull 3, in 2016.
