I am fine: Big B

Various members of the film fraternity, including Shah Rukh Khan, met with the PM at his Change Within event.

Media reports of Big B’s illness was nothing but sensationalism wrapped in completely fake concern. There are sections of the media that park snoopers and photographers at hospitals and airports, but every star who reaches the airport isn’t flying out, and every celebrity reaching the hospital doesn’t have to be admitted for treatment.

However, the media also can’t be blamed for doing its job, no matter how intrusive. Nevertheless, doctors who give away medical details need to be checked. Bachchan has spoken about the confidentiality of medical reports and he and his family are not amused at the way his routine visit was converted into fodder for alarmist stories.

“It may be a sensational headline for a particular portal, but for us, it is his health and his life. Hospitals are not airports. The media curiosity gets unhealthy when it pursues someone to the hospital. His liver is fine, by the way,” says a family member.

Bachchan himself in a private text message confirmed, “Main theek hoon (I am fine).”
