Adipurush: All India Cine Workers demand FIR against Film Director, Dialogue Writer

Prabhas-starrer Adipurush, based on the Hindu mythology Ramayana, kicked up a controversy from various quaters after its release. After sanints in Ayodhya, actors of the mega TV serial Ramayana and the Nepal government, the All India Cine Workers Association also demanded banning the screening of the film both in theatres and OTT.

They took exception to the screenplay and dialogues of the film and said that they were defaming the image of Lord Ram and Hanuman. The film is hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus and advocates of Sanatan Dharma, the Association said.

They resented the depiction of Lord Rama and said that Lord Ravana looked like a character of a video game. They also faulted the makers of the movie for the dialogues which they said were hurting not just Indians but even others across the globe.

The Association members wanted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to order for banning the screening of the film and demanded that an FIR be registered against film's director Om Raut and dialogue writer Manoj Muntasir Shukla.
