Sriram Raghavan returns

While his last venture Andhadhun did much better than Badlapur, as well, raking in the shekels worldwide, he is yet to cast for this noir subject.

A 1961 novel by Frederic Dard called Le Monte-Charge has recently caught Sriram Raghavan’s attention. The novel, which was later translated into English as Bird In A Cage, was also made into a film titled Le Monte Charge by Marcel Bluwal.

“The opening of the story is similar to Badlapur, where a man returns from jail. But this time he is not seeking revenge. He is caught in a tale where a woman and her child ask him for help and she resembles his ladylove. But Sriram is someone who takes his time on a script. He has multiple ideas and he will make the one that he believes strongly in rather than what film studios want. Once he gets his idea in place, he will start casting and the actors need to believe in him and follow him blindly,” says an industry source.
