Pratyusha was not pregnant: Rahul Raj Singh
Mumbai: Rahul Raj Singh, the fiancé of late TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, refuted her histopathology reports which stated that she was pregnant before death. However, according to reports, Rahul told investigators that he was aware of her pregnancy.
While leaving the Bangur Nagar police station after he was questioned for two hours, Rahul addressed mediapersons and said, “She was not pregnant. Everyone is quoting his or her sources but did anyone take the doctor’s interview. The police will find everything in their investigations. The facts will emerge in the court of law.”

Rahul, who recently tried ending his life said that he still couldn’t believe that Pratyusha is dead. He said, “I still feel she has gone to her friends’ house and that I should call her and ask her to come back. Only when I come to the police station do I realise she is not here anymore.”
On the other hand, Pratyusha’s parents, who have claimed that is a murder and not suicide, said that they never knew about the pregnancy or abortion. They have now moved the Bombay high court to seek transfer of the case to the crime branch, for a proper probe of Rahul Raj Singh, who is on pre-arrest bail.

On April 19, Medical investigations indicated that she may have been pregnant before death. This information was part of the report of the doctors in J J Hospital after they performed medical examination on the tissues of the 24-year-old as well as that of her uterus, a police officer, who is close to the investigation, said.
Citing the report, the officer also said that there was a premature death of the foetal cell, which raised the question whether she had opted for an abortion or due to some reasons the (foetal) cell was damaged.
