A secret makeover for Charmee
Charmee has been out of action since Jyothi Laksmi, which she also co-produced. What has she been doing since then?
She says that she has kept her options open, both as an actor and a producer… hinting that a Bollywood comeback is also not out of the question. “After co-producing JL, I now want to produce a film by myself. I am also looking forward to acting in another film,” says Charmee, adding, “Right know I cannot disclose anything. But yes, they are two different films — as a producer and an actor.”
Why did she go into hibernation? “That’s the real question (smiles). I am going in for a transformation and am planning a strong comeback. For bringing in a change physically —whether getting thinner by dieting or putting on weight —it’s best to stay away from the public eye. I think it is always better to come out once your have achieved the desired results.
Halfway cuts a sorry figure. And being in this field of glitz and glamour one needs perfection before confronting the public.” Talking about her daily routine and diet, she says, “I kick-start my day with a rigorous workout in the gym at 5 am. Later, I eat a bowl of fresh fruits and dry fruits. I eat every two hours — vegetables, chicken, egg, fish —but only 80 gram. My lunch is one roti with two tablespoons of any dal or mixed vegetables with chicken. Two hours later I eat an apple or a pear. I have dinner by 7:30 and go to bed by 9.”
So no parties? “I party like mad, but only once a month. I love to dance as well, so I may dance till the wee hours. My partying friends are from outside the industry. I love them because with them I can say anything and enjoy myself without any restrictions.
“Will she be making a Bollywood comeback soon? She says, “That’s the million dollar question…you never know, it could be Bollywood. Also, I have yet not signed any film here in the Telugu industry….wait and watch, will I produce my next film here, or will I act in Bollywood? Anything can happen. Also, you will see a much fitter me.”
