Athiya Shetty taking things slow
Athiya Shetty might be all of one film old, but in this short span of time she has seen the adulation of the film industry, the jitters of debuting in B’wood and yes, has also learnt to take failure in her stride. So when she tells you that she is taking things one at a time, you have to believe her.
Athiya has always been praised for her sartorial choices and has been told how she is a born model. But she is very clear about what she feels.
“Right from my childhood I have dreamt of being an actor. I do like walking the ramp and doing photoshoots but that is just a small part of who I am,” says Athiya, who walked the ramp for Maybelline at Amazon India Fashion Week in Delhi. For Athiya the journey so far has been a blessing.
“I think that is the advantage of being Suneil Shetty’s daughter. He has made such a good name for himself that wherever I go, I only receive the love and adulation of people,” she says.
“But There is a lot of pressure, to make my parents proud,” she says. Though her Hero co-star and fellow debutant Sooraj Pancholi has gone on to sign new projects, Athiya remains unfazed.
She says, “I’m taking things slowly. The second film in one’s career is one of the most important ones and it sets the ball rolling, so as of now I am in no hurry to get there. There are a few projects, but I can’t talk about them right now.”
