Vir Das to do massive World Tour of 21 countries; set to make documentary on it

Mumbai: The multi talented Vir Das doesn't need any introduction in depth for the kind of knowledge and varied talents he possesses. From being a versatile actor to a brilliant stand up comedian Vir has done it all.

He is the first ever Indian Comic with a Netflix Special which will release in April and Vir Das is making history again. Das is taking his brand of comedy to the next level The Boarding Das World Tour the largest ever world tour by an Indian comic. And when we say ‘World Tour’, we don't mean a handful of countries across one continent. We mean 6 continents with 21 countries on the list.

With so much buzz around it Vir couldn't resist adding one more feather to his cap and that he plans to document the entire world tour which will have its official release theatrically next year.

Das is planning to capture behind the curtains, rehearsals, travel diaries, interviews, etc as the memoir of such a historical event for himself and will release it as an official performance documentary next year when the tour end in December 2017. This would be something extraordinary which he is planning that is normally seen on International platforms.

Speaking about it, Vir said, "I'm pretty kicked about putting together this unique documentary movie on the tour. The world tour is spread over this entire year in 21 countries and I begin next weekend in the US. I want to capture the essence of what comedy can do; it can bring joy to people and can bring people together regardless of circumstances.

“The documentary we intend to release next year as a theatrical and will be an experiential film under 90 minutes that would be interspersed with performances, behind the scenes and the while madness that goes behind making someone as gigantic as this into reality".
