Jolly LLB 2: A fine blend of contrasting emotions executed with utmost brilliance
Mumbai: This courtroom drama is gripping from the word ‘go’ and something that will stay with you for days. Encompassing all the primary emotions – Love, Tragedy and Humour – the film is a perfect blend of both the worlds, real and reel.
If Akshay’s spontaneous wit leaves you roaring with laughter, the Holi song will mesmerise you beyond belief. The seasoned actor has struck a perfect balance between humour and seriousness. He is like a wizard let loose in a courtroom; he is funny this moment and omniscient and serious the next.
The well-crafted trailer very intelligently uses humour as its potent weapon and slowly introduces the central theme of the story- a gruesome murder and Jolly’s struggle to get ‘insaaf’ (justice) for the bereaved family.
He vows to make it big as a lawyer and then a case against ‘the powerful and corrupt’ falls in his lap. Man on a mission, the once hilarious Jolly runs wild seeking the truth.
Another highlight of the film is Sayani Gupta’s emotional outbreak that shakes up the somewhat casual lawyer in Akshay. And, not to forget, Annu Kapoor as Akshay’s opponent is brilliantly cruel.
Seems like Jolly has some serious work at hand and from the looks of it, he will not rest until he brings the culprits to justice.
