Global Citizen fest: After Demi, JayZ takes the stage, raps in Punjabi!
Mumbai: The Global Citizen Festival 2016 India has officially begun. So far, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Arijit Singh, Shraddha Kapoor, Farhan, Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, A R Rahman, International sensation Demi Lovato, The Vamps and rapper JayZ have performed. The ground is packed with energetic crowd making the most of their time, waiting for the grand event, which is Coldplay's performance.
Bollywood stars Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor announced the opening of the festival.
Arijit took to the stage and set the mood right as he crooned the 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' title track and then went on to sing his other chartbusters.
Apart from above mentioned artists, Sonakshi Sinha was also present at the event and entertained the audience with her rendition of 'Har Kissi Ko Nahi Milta'. Music-composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy enthralled everyone with their hit songs like 'Kal Ho Na Ho', 'Breathless' among others. Alia Bhatt introduced Demi Lovato on the stage. While the actress fumbled a little in between, the was as peppy as usual.
Demi, dressed a metallic gold bodysuit with thigh high boots, took the stage. The singer performed 'Confident', 'Heartbreak' among other songs. Her act was followed by Bachchan's performance with the Shillong Choir.
Farhan Akhtar also took the stage by storm with his performance on 'Rock On' title track and 'Maston Ka Jhund'. Shraddha, who joined her co-star Farhan for the act, also crooned songs from her movie 'Aashiqui 2'. After JayZ' performance, Ranveer Singh took the stage and gave an electrifying performance.
The Global Citizen Festival, a charitable event is being held at the MMRDA grounds in BKC, Mumbai where over 80,000 people are present right now.
